Chandana Mohan Rao (1943–2025) was a renowned businessman in the Telugu states, known for his visionary contributions to the textile and jewellery industries. He founded Chandana Brothers shopping malls, which have become widely recognized and respected across the Telugu states.

His exceptional business acumen and innovative thinking in the textile sector earned widespread appreciation and respect within the industry. His unique ability to maintain direct and friendly relationships with people in the business community stood as one of his key strengths and hallmarks of his leadership.
1972 – Began career as a wholesale clothing businessman. 1976 – Established Ramachandra Cloth Showroom. 1982 – Expanded business by opening another showroom in Rajamahendravaram under the brand Chandana Kanchi Sarees. 1984 – Launched a new clothing venture under the banner Chandana Brothers at Jagadamba Centre, Visakhapatnam. 1998 – Entered the jewellery industry and pioneered the introduction of the first hallmark gold jewellery in the Telugu states. Later, with the encouragement of his son-in-law Mavuri Venkata Ramana, opened the city’s first shopping mall: CMR Shopping Mall.
Apart from providing employment opportunities to thousands of individuals and supporting numerous families, initiated the CMR Charitable Trust to assist and uplift poor and deserving students through educational support.
